The mighty congo stream streams through a land that wants to heal and grow.
"doctor congo", the hospital ship of the congo stream, a humanitary project at the dimensions of the second largest stream of the planet.

The Congo stream and its affluents represent about 7000 kilometers of potentially navigatable water. Hence it represents the mainstream for communication for thousands of inhabitants. It will also show the way towards better medical care at the heart of Africa. The hospital ship, collecting doctors, nurses, operating theatres, medical imaging units,medical labs and hospital beds will fulfill three goals:

1. the accomplishment of medicosurgical actions which have been unrealizable so far, due to the lack of know how and materials in the care facilities in the larger cities.
   the "travelling" medicosurgical activity will however be coordinated with the care facilities which will select patients depending on the itinerary of the ship as communicated by radio and telecommunication.
   
2. to provide continuing education for doctors and nursing staff in the existing centers. the hospital ship will be a travelling co-unit of the medical schools. Its communication facilities will provide the local doctors the possibility to share scientific data, from a distance and in live transmissions with the best specialists in America, Asia, Africa and Europe. Hence, the ship will bring together physicians from all over the world around the theme of medical care in Congo.
   
3. to provide the necessary equipment, products and medication for the medical care of a huge area.
