Course descriptionWith the advent of open tension free techniques, laparoscopic inguinal hernia repair may seem to have lost some of its appeal. This one-day session will evaluate whether this is statement is justified, and will compare the long-term results of both approaches. It will also examine bilateral hernias, the use of mesh with young adults and the risks of later operative problems related to prostate surgery. It will also cover the fertility problem, the postoperative painful groin and whether reliable and safe mesh material exists. Participants observe live TEP and TAPP methods, as well as incisional hernia repair via a laparoscopic approach. |

• Review the relevant anatomy of the groin, viewed via the laparoscope
