Transoral Foregut Surgery
Course descriptionThe least invasive and most « natural » approach beyond laparoscopy is the new transoral intragastric surgery route. This constitutes the first stage in intra-abdominal transgastric surgery. This surgery requires a set of new skills as well as tools with a small diameter, good flexibility and a sophisticated design, allowing safe introduction into the oropharynx. Thanks to this new surgery, one can now restore the anti-reflux valve in chronic GERD patients. One can also reduce the gastric pouch in case of weight regain after weight loss surgery. The goal of this workshop is to familiarize you with the indications and the different techniques of transoral intragastric surgery.
